Welcome to DVC

Former Youth and Domestic Violence Coordinator, Linda Kravets, and her assistant, Bobbie Staggs, saw a need for domestic violence services in the Southwest Michigan area. In 1996, Kravets and Staggs took on the task of giving a voice and a place to victims of domestic violence. Thus, The Domestic Violence Coalition, Inc. (DVC) was born. Since 1996, DVC has been providing free services to the residents of Van Buren County, Michigan and surrounding areas who have been affected by the crime of domestic violence. Our services expanded to include crisis intervention, prevention education, and legal advocacy. In 2016, DVC added sexual assault services to our list of no-cost resources allowing us to serve victims of sexual violence. In 2016, our organization continued to grow with the implementation of bilingual services. Continuing the work of Kravets and Staggs, our staff and volunteers work to eradicate these crimes in our local communities, empower survivors, and provide compassionate assistance to victims of sexual and domestic violence.
