This project Outreach to Battered Persons was supported by Crime Victim Assistance Grant Awards CVA#20624-15V12 awarded Services Commission, Michigan Department of Community Health. The grant award of $42,581 (80% of the project), comes from the Federal Crime Victims Fund, established by the Victims of Crime Act of 1984. The Domestic Violence Coalition provides the required match by the use of 4 volunteer hours valued at $12 per hour.
The following graphs describe where our funding comes from and where it goes. Our income supports 2 full time employees and one flex time employee. With the administrative help of one nearly full time volunteer, our administrative costs are significantly reduced so that most of our income can support the reason for our existence - the compassionate support and assistance to victims of the cruel crimes of domestic and sexual violence. Our other mandate, the alleviation of domestic violence in our community, is made possible in part by the corporate grants restricted to the Prevention Education program -- please read about it on the Prevention Education tab on our homepage.
